New California Cell Phone Law & Bluetooth Headsfree Devices

Starting July 1, 2008, California state law is going to make illegal to use your cellphone handset while driving. Law enforcement can ticket you for for driving while talking on handheld cell phones. See a FAQ here about the law:

Things to keep in mind:

  • Those under 18 cannot use the cell phone at all while driving, handsfree or otherwise
  • Adults can dial your cell phone, but you can't be distracted while doing so
  • Adults You cannot talk on your handset, you must have some kind of handsfree device like a bluetooth headset or a wired headset
  • Passengers can use their handsets

With this law, I am going to be searching for a handsfree device, most likely Bluetooth. Does anyone have nay particular handsfree units that they particularly like? Right now, I'm just using the earbuds that came with my iPhone.
