Iu-Mien Adverbs
Iu-Mien Adverbs:
If you speak Mien well enough, I’m sure, you will agree with me that Mien language is a very colorful language especially when and how the adverbs are used to add flavor to the language. Let me give you one example, “ yie buatc dauh mbopv ong-ong nyei hlo gau, dueiv buic-buic uov, mh normh jou daax jou nyei, nyau jienv uov ndiangx-caa. Buatc liuz yie ninh ziouc qungx-qortc nyei tiux njiec; Congx mbeux baac, buatc ninh norm-norm nyei mbongx dangh uov huaav mbaiv, liuz buatc ninh hmatv jieqv hmatv jieqv nyei njangx jienv opv ndiaav horngx miaqc “ !
Now, I challenge you to translate above statement into any other languages and make it as colorful or as tasty or as in a good feeling as in Mien language. Because, i know i can't translate it and make it into such good feeling or good image language as in Mien!

The Origin and History of Mien (Yao)
I have always had a deep understanding of mien culture but the origin of Mien has always been elusive. If you do enough reading or searching on the web, you will find out that there is ONE major tale that explains how Miens came into existence. It has to do with this Dragon-Dog, which is a man, that was a servant of the Chinese Emperor at the time. The Dragon-Dog was allowed to marry a princess after he went off and killed the Emperor's enemy and this began the "YAO" people. Mien people are a subgroup of the YAO people. All Mien people belong to the ethnic group of YAO but not all YAO are Mien. Mien is a part of several subgroups within the YAO group. There are 4 distinctively different dialects of mien, dependent on the geographic distribution of the population and they all dress differently.
