Interesting...

Is this offered yearly? What about 2008 graduates?

that isnt fair...

I dont get why you wouldnt give scholarships for students with a 2.5 gpa or higher...that makes it harder for the rest of the mien students with lower gpas to get any kind of money for college..I dont think thats fair..People should make it fair for everyone..Not every mien people is that smart but they can prove you wrong about thinking since they dont have a 3.0 or higher they dont deserve money for school...Im a senior in high school and seeing this makes me very discourage about applying for the Iu Mien scholarship now...

not true. my gpa is pretty

not true. my gpa is pretty average with about 3.5 and i still won. it depends on ur gpa, but i dont think it depends that much. there are other factors. as long as you have a qualifying gpa and has good traits, you should definitely go for it.

I like you to identify

I like you to identify yourself by your name, age, sex, etc, and any relatives living in USA. Some of your cousins here might be able to help you out. Please tell us what are you studying in Singapore and planning to do after you are done. Please leave your address here because some Mien might want to donate you money by mailing cashier checks directly to you.

Good luck to you and come back to tell us how you are doing? How is life in Singapore? What do you for fun in Singapore? Are there any Mien in Singapore beside you?

Hello everyone, I am a Mien

Hello everyone,
I am a Mien living in Laos. I just wonder if there are any scholarships for Mien students who are not studying in the States? I am currently on ASEAN scholarship pursueing my studies in Singapore but the scholarship contract is going to be officiially terminated at the end of this year. As such, I am now searching for a scholarship. Looking forwards to all replies.

Scholarships

Why isnt this scholarship offered to Mien junkors also? I don't want to be in my senior year looking for scholarships. It is better to get it sooner.

True

It's true but those appliciant has the same GPA of 4.0. DONT APPLY IF YOUR GPA ARE LOWER THEN 4.0

Hello

Why not ask before and why now..It's too late for me now because I'm finishing up my school this year. Actually I'm in Career business college in Oregon and I'm majoring in Pharmacy technic and going for Diploma later going on for Associate but not sure for right now. The IMSF had been resisted for over seven years now. For the college student they may apply but it's only for senior going to freshmen college and after that I do not know. They only way you can get it is if you have a 4.0 GPA.

Website?

Is there a website for IMSC or IMSA? I searched Google but couldn't fine much info.

She's right. After i dunno

She's right. After i dunno how many IMSCs now.. 10? ... people get the picture. Go to college! I think we need to support those ppl in college.. so they don't drop out. I know a lot ppl that goto college.. drop out.. or I know ppl that graduate.. but cant' find jobs... we need to help those too!

What about the people the older ones in college struggling?

I think we should also have something aiming towards the one's that are already in college and that are struggling to stay in school because of financial problems. I'm 100% with the whole scholarship for the seniors in high school but we have to think about those who can't even afford being in college. A little money goes a long way for those who don't have money.

I'm with you on that idea!

I'm with you on that idea! I would like to see scholarships for Mien individuals already pursing their higher education and that the scholarships would be at for students in different levels of their higher education.

Great Idea!

I love your idea and hope to see it realize in the near future. I believe we should support educational endeavors at all levels. I’m not a smart person myself, but I can work hard. What about you start up this program? I’ll be more then happy to help you out. This way we will soon have more people getting their PhDs.

Question about the scholarship/fellowship

Since the scholarship seems to be only open to high school seniors or G.E.D. recipients, I am wondering if the committee offers any other scholarships/fellowships for Iu Mien students who will be going into Ph.D. programs beginning fall 2007. Any comment or feedback regarding this question will be much appreciated.
Thank you

Any senior who needs help

Any senior who needs help please do apply. This IMSF is real, legit, and worth applying for. Their Mien scholarship funds ever awarded to students were the best I've seen so far. Their agency staff and volunteers were great, honest, and friendly. Real Mien helping other Mien.

Wait...there's more Mien scholarships?

Really? There's more?!? Do you mind posting some link or e-mailing me a few? I'm a Mien student in desperate need for college cash!

Most scholarships have

Most scholarships have trouble increasing the competitiveness of their programs. This is true in general and holds for the mien community. If anything, this should further encourage you guys to apply!

I heard that in one year,

I heard that in one year, all that applicants received something because the number of applicants was equal to the number of awards. True or false.

Yep, I was so ecstatic when

Yep, I was so ecstatic when I heard there was a mien scholarship, but there are a few out there. To answer your questions the household income item is for demographics purposes only, and do not contribute to either the qualification or selection process. If you are still uncomfortable, perhaps you can put in a range or even omit it completely. To be honest, if I was a rich billionaire, I would probably not apply =) Qualification is not the same as winner selection. In a perfect world, I will agree with you that all qualifying applicants should be awarded. In the real world, you have to decide who from those eligible will be selected as the award recipients. That’s a very interesting idea you brought up, to award all eligible applicants.

Bravo! This is very good for

Bravo! This is very good for all iumien students. I look at the application it stated household annual income. Is it for high education but low income family only? Oh! and one more things if the applicant are qualified. Why still need to go for the panel interview?
