I would like to this opportunity to thank all of you (s) for attending our 13th Annual Shasta County Mien Community New Year Celebration. With the love and support form your community we are deeply touched and haapy to see so many faces at our New Year Celebration. Your attendance had made this year's celebration a huge successful year.

I know there were lots of talented Mien Artists that came to support SCMC, but due to limited of time we can only allow the pre-selected Special honor Guest Mien Artists to perform on the stage. I am deeply sorry for those of you who came and didn't have the opportunity to perform on stage.

Once again, please accept my sincerest apology.

I apologized re: ur comments about pridless scum or being good samaritan to the iumien community? -As far as I know about our old real mien traditional new year celebration such as "red eggs, baaix hnyiangx, drink tons of alcohol til drops for most men. and if intriguing for singing contest..set up fires put fingers into ears sings from dark to dawn til one side gives up etc?

Promoting culture awareness is greatly in need of every enthnicities. That is why I said" a little bit of this, a little of that" Having a varities of different culture performances in mien new year celebration will only brighten community. Don't you think so?

A little response to your uncertainty of your own damn identity. Just because you don't know much about your damn history don't mean that the Mien identity doesn't exist. There are several people in this world who do not know much about their history and they are still in existence. You need to realize that your ignorance doesn't speak for the entire Mien community. I am proud to be Mien. I know little but some of our history because we are a delicate small community that shouldn't be baggered anymore and especially by some prideless scum like you.

There is a DAMN point to Mien new year. Mien new year is one of the very few social gatherings that actually gets a lot of Mien people together. Bcak in the homelands, we were always together in villages and smaller settings. Now that we're in the states we are not fortunate enough to hold onto our small knit communities where we get to see our relatives and friends everyday. So think a little before you make a comment like that. We need these gatherings as much as you seem to not appreciate it.

There is no such thing as a true Mien. We don't even know our own histor/record. So therefore, a little bit of this, a little bit of that... its all kewl...

I don't see much beneficial to our mien NY with all the Karoke, beauty pagent, and NY celebration without hard pure liquors?! All I can say is that Shasta Community leaders and event coordinators are the best! Thank you for putting the event together for many of us to enjoy. San Saeyang

i don't know how all of you felt, but this event certainly look and felt like a true Mien New Year celebration to me and all of my friends who were there. the atmosphere was great, security was strict, but friendly, dancers were fantastic, food price was appropriate, no long or too many speeches, all karaoke contestants were amazing (there should have been more female contestants entered and more mien songs sung..oh well maybe we'll see more in the future), the guest artists and singers were great, and the judges were respectful. All in all, i have to say the event organizers and the community leaders did an excellent job. thank you Shasta Mien community. we'll look forward to another event of yours.
