Dear Friends, Colleagues and Iu-Mien Community Leaders:

On behalf of the United Iu-Mien Community, Inc. and the 2008 New Year planning committee, we would like to invite you, your staff and community to join us in celebrating our traditional Iu-Mien Annual New Year. We are giving recognition to our former Iu-Mien district Leaders’ Chairman/Da’Saeng, Frank Saephanh for his years of contribution to our Iu-Mien Community in the greater Sacramento County, and welcoming aboard the newly elected Chairman/Da’Saeng, Weun Seng Liam Fong.

So far, our Iu-Mien Annual New Year celebration is an effective way to serve and unite Mien people who are scattered throughout California and many other states. We would be honored by your presence. Your support would help the Iu-Mien usher in the beginning of a New Year, and help our UIMC board of directors and the Sacramento Iu-Mien eleven district leaders to help bring our greater Sacramento Iu-Mien people to a higher level of living. Also, your support would help honor and preserve our Mien cultural values, customs, and traditions. We expect these traditions to be passed down to our younger Mien generations in the years to come. We the United Iu-Mien Community, Inc., the New Year planning committee and all of the Sacramento Iu-Mien people sincerely ask you to include this event into your busy schedules. To the people never been to this kind of banquet party before. Each ticket you bought its for your seat reserved its not like the party at the hall where you can come as many as you want. If you don't get ticket advance then its better not to drive a long road because there won't be any seats for you.

I truly agree with you in this issue. All the comments that you made on here are 120 percents right. I am sure that people go to the parties for to having fun, not to get bored nor to listening to those long talk. I hope that they will understand and to cut down some of those long speeches.

Please try to minimized the guest speakers and keep the speeches as little as posible in the event. Lets to maximized the time for people to have more fun in the party! You don’t seem to understand my point. I didn’t say there shouldn’t be any taking on the stage. I said people can TALK on the stage but a lot of them got carry-away with their personal stories. Which is not acceptable because they just don’t think it is wasting everybody’s time. Everybody should keep this in their mind that there are people waiting for their speech too.

you are mien you should support our mien communities. it takes a lot of work to become into an event, and the members work hard to get this event happen. no, no agree with you.i will be there to support our mien people. you are prejudie of mien you should not hang around with mien people at all.

Is this going to be a long talk party? if that's the case i would need to pass this one. I have never in my life been to a party that's has less talking, it always end up wasting my time for being there. I don't think it just wasted my time it also wasted everybody's time too. Party Hostess needs to keep this on their mind "PEOPLE ARE THERE TO ENJOY & HAVE FUN". Why can't we have a great party I wonder? don't get me wrong here, i do want to support our Mien community but we're not improving when it comes to celebrating parties. I think the main problems are delay schedules due to the facts people are talking too long on the strage. Does anyone agree with me?

All New Year Celebrations are FUN!

We've invited many special guest singers, including female and male singers from Richmond and Oakland,CA. We will also have singers from Merced, Visalia, Fair Field, San Jose, West Sact., and locally.

Being physically well, and be able to attend a celebration with our friends, relatives and community members is the best thing one can ever ask for.

Unlike many, I really like to attend all celebrations and thank the hosts for volunteering their time and efforts to continue carry out our Mien tradition. Instead, I have young children and sick parents to care for.

For you all young Mien brothers and sisters, I would like to encourage you guys/girls to attend all celebrations while you can. It's all about supporting one another and gain the knowledges and experiences as you continue to live life. ALL CELEBRATIONS ARE GREAT! ALL CELEBRATIONS ARE FUN!!! WE'RE NOT PROMOTING JUDGEMENT, BUT ENCOURAGEMENT.
