First Annual April Showers Outdoor Volleyball Tournament April 2008

We would like to invite all the volleyball players out there to our First Annual April Showers Asian Grass Volleyball tournament in Portland, Oregon.
We are trying to bring back volleyball to the Pacific NW and specifically back to the Asian community. This year we plan to have at least one tournament a month starting in April till about August. There will be Men's and Women's tournaments with CASH and Prizes to each group.

So get your team together and start practicing!

This is A/AA level play. Depending on turn out and interest we can host other levels at these tournaments.

Men Quads. 4 on 4
Women Quads. 4 on 4

Fee
$100 Team Registration

Cash prizes will go up after the minimum number
of teams are met.

Men's Tournament (Min 6 Teams)
$500 - 1st Place
$100 - 2nd Place

Women's Tournament (Min 4 Teams)
$400 - 1st Place
$100 - 2nd Place

Pool play then Straight Double Elimination

  • 8:00am Check IN
  • 8:30am Captain's Meeting
  • Pool play starts at 9am
  • 1 Non-Asian player is allowed on each team.
  • Game balls will be provided.
  • No rotation. Only server rotation.

Deadline for Entry March 24th, 2008

We must have a minimum team or else the tournament will be cancelled.

Deng, Tseng and Daniel, are you guys are on the same team? It sure sound tempting to attend this event, although our great old days are long gone.lolz Wish ya all have a wonderful tournaments!!!

We now have our max of women's teams.

There is still 3 more spots from the men's tournament.

We have decided to split the the tournament up after pool play,
because the teams are pretty stacked with AA level players.

Come out and check it out if you are in the area. There should be some good competition.

Tournament Update

So far we have a great turn out with about 9 Men's team and 1 Women's team.
There is a few more spots for the Men's tourney left, because we are capping it at 12 teams.

Check out the site for list of teams. They include a Lao/Mein team, a Samoan team, a Hawaiian team, a Hmong team, a Cambodia team, a Philippino team and a Vietnamese/Chinese.

Women's Tournament Update: We are looking for a couple more Women's team. We made a change where there is NO ENTRY fee and 1st Place is $100. Not bad for a day of playing volleyball.
