2008 Presidential Election

2008 Presidential Election

Please discuss the 2008 Presidential Election here, everything from the primary, to the VP selection, the national conventions all the way up the the inauguration.

Now that the pimaries are over, who do you think are the best candidates for the VP on the D and P sides? Will it be another four years of Republicans in the White House or will we see a "sea of change" this year?

If the Republicans continue, what do you think will happen to the economy? Iraq? Afghanistan?

What if the Democrats take office? What do you think will happen to the economy? Iraq? Afghanistan?

You better hope Mccain/Palin dont win

You better hope Mccain/Palin dont win. If they do, its going to effect each and everyone of us. They are going to raise more taxes on the poor and lower taxes on the rich giving big tax breaks for the rich and less for the middle and poor class. That is what president Bush did all in his 8 years in office. I cant believe 55% of the people are that dumb to vote for bush. 1st year was forgiveable, but the second term, too. Excluding whatever he says in his campaign, his policies and mind resembles that of Bush. I hope we all die for the sins that we have created with other countries. This countries media is too biased, and i cant take it. Its too much brain-washing and giving out false information.

The government is controlled by the rich. Money talks. This government equals greed and corruption. That is what Capitalism is. Only the few that controls the many.

If you are making over

If you are making over $250,000 a year. You would want vote for McCain, because he considers that as middle class. I hope Obama is elected. How worst can our economy get? We will find out if McCain is president. Sad but true.

McCain/Palin '08

When come to November vote "no doubt" McCain/Palin going to win. Why? 90% white will not votes for Obama even though they are Democrat. Why? because he's black.

All hands down, i will

All hands down, i will choose Obama. Obama supports the poor or at least a little compared to the conservative Mccain, who supports the rich only. Dont get confused when they say "the poor". It means people who live check by check or dont make a hundred thousand dollars a year. I'm sure at least 90% of the people in the U.S. fall in that category. Dont be one of the many to be hypnotized by the consertives, who controls the media and basically everything else. Mccain is only there to make the rich richer. Dont be dumb and vote for McCain.

To me, its funny that they even have a debate or that its an election between a Republican and Democrat when it should be between the Democrat and the Green Party. Because, only at most 3% of the people in the United States are actually rich and everyone else are either middle or poor class. I believe in the the Green Party because they are there for the poor and not for the consertives. But if i have to choose, i will pick the Democrat because many of the people are too dumb to realize to pick the Green Party.

Dont be fooled in this country, only the few that controls the many. That is how it will always be. It has always been a corrupted country since independence. Open your eyes.

I'm a little off topic, but dont let this country fool you into thinking this is a free country because its not. Always stand sides with other countries because they have been right all along. The United States are corrupted as ever causing trouble where ever they go. The communism stuff are all B.S. It is term the United States use to stur up trouble.

Stand tall and raise your head for the communism because that is the next big thing. Dont let this country fool you like the many.

It’s a tough gig, running

It’s a tough gig, running for president. The modern media is brutally unforgiving with its microphones and video cameras: Any word, any image, at any moment can haunt a candidate for a lifetime.

Here is OBAMA Quote! “Bitter Comment In San Francisco”
At an April 6 fundraiser in San Francisco, a city whose name many on the right take as a shorthand for liberal excess, Obama told the gathered donors in remarks not intended for broader consumption:

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them…And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Not coincidentally, the small towns in places like Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia are where Obama found the least support in his primary bid. What do you think for all the Mienh People who own guns, hunters, etc?

brain wash

Mienh people should never vote for a republicans or a democrats. Democrats are corperate hoes. Republicans are the worst. Your views and ideals are evil. I for one is voting for ralph nader a consumer activist. He is GOD not jesus. He is our only HOPE.

VP Al Gore

NO, I don't think Al Gore willing to accept VP.. but I do think Al Gore will be one of his senior Advisor....

No Al Gore for Demo VP

Al Gore has tons of experience in Washington. What's Barrack Obama theme, "Change", Al Gore doesn't represent change in Washington. Beside I don't think former VP of Pres. Clinton and former Presidential candidate Al Gore will bring the excitement to November because people get tired of old politic.

I'm not a celebrity but paparazzi is my public enemy.

Al Gore for VP.

Hi Gauv nauz, how are you guys?

Yes, I think Al Gore is a good choice too. Obama has to have someone that has experience as his running mate. If he just picks someone that is favored to him, but lack of experience and knowledge, I believe, it might not work.

Thanks

Could Al Gore be Obama's

Could Al Gore be Obama's running mate? What does everyone thing of Al Gore as a VP? How would a former presidential candidate accept the role of a vp candidate?

vp. Selection

Hi sister mmmeuyismmm; it's been a long time haven't seen you guys. How are you and your family? About Mrs. Clinton said she would not settle for less than presidency, I believe you were right. She said that around March of this year. However, I think toward the end of her campaign, when she knew she was not going to get nominated, she had changed her tone. I thought she said, if it would help democrat to win the white house, she would be glad to join Obama, on the number two ticket.

Thanks

Kao

Woman VP?

It's nice to see Erica, mmmeuyismm, Lena getting into politic. Hey Mienh folks! Let's recognize a few potential mienh woman leaders.lol Because time is too precious, life too short and the stage in politic is too high lets keep these lady in mind when come to IMANC national election? As you know I'm too old to cry, too hurt to laughs but we can't look back for we can't move forward.lol

I'm not a celebrity but paparazzi is my public enemy.

but didn't clinton say she

but didn't clinton say she wouldn't settle for less than presidency? (heard from a media news group forgot which one correct me if i am wrong)

VP. Selection

Thanks for siding with me. Well, I just remember those 8 peaceful years we had with president Bill Clinton. Our economy was booming, the U.S unemployment rate was at all time low, our national debt was wiped out, and we even had financial surplus. I also remember, president Bill Clinton was going around the world making friends with leaders of different countries. Vietnam was the United States bitter enemy at one time, during the Indo-China war, but president Clinton went there to make friend with the leaders of that country during his presidential years. Because of his good gesture, people in that country were very happy and their children had even called president Clinton as uncle Bill. Nevertheless, people can still argue that President Clinton was not being faithful to his wife, and that he has brought shame to the country, but hey, he is just a human being. I see people make mistake all the time and as long as he was a good leader for the country and that's what it counts. I believe most leaders have the same problem, more or less, but they are lucky and didn't get caught. With that, I really want Hillary Clinton to be our president because I believe she is a better candidate, with all the experience she has had with her husband, but she didn't get nominated, oh well. Even she failed to get nominated, I hope they would pick her as a running mate for Obama. I believe that is the only way Obama could win the white house. Otherwise, Mr. John McCain can count on enjoying the landslide victory. Sorry for my lengthy answer. Again, this is just my little humble opinion, but either Obama or John McCain gets elected, I will still respect him as my president.

Chua Nyouz, I am not so much

Chua Nyouz, I am not so much into politics however I totally agreed with you...and sides it is a great idea to have a female VP such Hillary Clinton.

Vice president

Hi guys and gals;

This is kind of off of the subject, but I just thougth I'd throw it in here to get some opinions from everyone:

In my little humble opinion, I think, in order for Obama to win the presidency, he must pick Hillary Clinton as his running mate. The reason is, Hillary has lots of experience. She is very smart, knowledgable, and she has over 18 million supporters, in addition to her brilliant husband, former President Bill Clinton. What do you all say?

VOTING 2008

for those of you who dont vote i advise everyone to vote in the primary elections. we are in a war and we need a president who would better represent us. if you are not already registered to vote, please do so because your vote counts. we are a minority group and in this election i bet many of us are democrats and as all of you may know the democrats are in control of congress. teenagers today are voting less and we should increase this number. we are the next generation and if we arent participating in our government then we wouldnt be able to handle the world when it is going to be our turn.

I'm with you Mr. Kaochiem on

I'm with you Mr. Kaochiem on Obama V.P. for Democratic party. She has the most votes than Obama when come to poular choice/voice. With HRC 90% Democrat seating the White House. Without HRC, Obama have 50/50% because Republican will win many swing States where HRC dominates such as (FL, Mich, Ohio) F/Mich voters already pissed of at (DNC), DNC my term stand for DNC=did not count them.lol Aside Obama still is missing link when come to public eyes in the general election because he has so much negativity surround his personal association, life, etc. The more you come to know Sen. Obama the scary the more puzzling with your vote for him. If President Bush doesn't exist Sen. Mcain will run over Obama in a landslide. I know HRC is the better candidate than Obama, and Mcain. You want to know why "2 for 1" who else Bill. Of course Bill and Monica story will forever live on...

P.S. Watch outs!!! DNC, all the democrats don't let GOP display you all like "DEMO". Because Obama gets 90% black voters and GOP will use Race/Racial term when come General Election. If Republic make good case out of it, along with HRC mad voters, guess what Democrats will be "Demo" again just like John Kerry, Michael Dukakis.

I'm not a celebrity but paparazzi is my public enemy.

All wrong

I think your efforts in getting more people to vote is a great thing, however your "fine print" is sending the wrong message. I am mien, 30, and a registered democrat, but I have the conservative views of a republican. Everyone seems to make the WAR a big front headline to getting people out to vote. Here's a surprise people, the situation in Iraq won't change with a new president. The most important issue at hand is our economy. If you go out to vote, I ask you to please look through ALL the candidates and the vicious web of lies they're spinning first. Oh yes, they're all lies with a subtle undertone of truth. Besides, like A_Saechao said, the system is somewhat broken. What's the point of speaking up when you're leading a seminar for the deaf?

Voting 2008

Sorry, not to offend anyone but I'm not voting. I just don't like the electoral vote system. I felt like my vote didn't count in the 04 election and it was a waste of time. I don't know... it feels pretty useless if your vote is just going to be reduced down to an estimate or average of a particular place, a state, instead of it being counted as a whole single vote. The U.S. should really just go by popular vote so that every vote counts, I don't care if it takes them longer even a week, to count every vote individually I just want every vote to count. So until the U.S. decides to go by popular individual voting system, I will continue to not vote. We discussed about this in one of my classes and a it's a huge reason why so many people don't vote...
