Divorce in the Mien Community

Who is exactly our Asian, particulary mien woman? Who are they? Becareful mien woman are good leaders too and you are following one right now who-am-i? Educated or not they are in someway of smart individual and we must respect them as who they are and not what they are..

You can not compare Mien women to Nancy Pelosi or Hillary Clinton! Mien women are uneducated and they don't even knowing from left to right in their own house.

Why divorces in the Mien Community Increases? Because our mien women never have the privileges, respect that they deserve in our mien men therefore, they are exercising their woman rights. The mainstream culture also play major role for our Mien sub-culture to deteriate when come to family/marriage. Like I said, I ALWAYS respect woman power. Let examine Nancy Pelosi, Dr. Rice, and Hillary Clinton role, they are no different that our mien woman if we respect them like mainstream society treats them.

...because people don't understand the full meaning of a marriage and what that means to a relationship.Its like a boyfriend/girlfriend thing to most people where they walk away when tough times are present.

Some Mien women just gossip too much. They believe people with relationship problems are their emeny, and after their men.

I once was betraded. I was a shoulder for her to cry on, someone she calls to take walks with,and I would drop plans to spend time with her, I thought we were actually bestfriend, but she believed that I was after her husband and rip our friendship apart. I feel so betraded. After all these years, she still to this day believe I had a relationship with her husband. That was and still would be impossible. That is sick for her to even consider that. Every couple have problems. It doesn't mean that we are after eachothers husbands. Some women have to stop believing their husband is the only man on earth that everyone or someone wants.

Live life the way you want instead of bringing excusses to end a relationship. Don't bring other people into your martial problems.They don't deserve it. Its your problem. No one elses.

I think there are 2 main reasons people cheat - honestly.

1) Labido - Harmones, they drive a lot of your decision without you even knowing. I think that people are not satisfied with their "Love" life so they look elsewhere, both genders. Or that they are just hornballs and try to get as much as they can, evolutional trait - I guess.

2) Life expectancy - What type of life one expects. Lets say you got into a marriage with someone that you think will be fruitful, worry free, careless. Then you end up finding yourself in debt, ignored and forgotten by your "husband/wife". Someone else comes along that fills those void - BAM - you're gone.

DONT get me wrong, its not like I've cheated or been cheated on. haha, even though it may sound like it.

So, do you guys think that a lover stray because people change or do you think that the lover is always the same person but his/her wife or husband failed to see the lover's true color until it's too late?

I think that they ought to have a lie detector test for people to get their marriage licencse. It will save many people from expensive divorces. Marriage is a beautiful and sacred thing but many celebrities and people in general are taking adavantage of it.

Also realize these distinctions:

Miens in Laos/Thailand: they lived in a tight community, where marriage involved the Mien community.

Miens in the US: we no longer live in a village, and marriage is more of a family/relatives event than a community event.

In the "old" country, people were less "sang" (-highlife) publicly, because that was the way society there was.

There are many things that result in a divorce or separation. A few examples are financial problem, lack of communication like some of you already mentioned, lack of respect and trust, lack of love and sex is also one of the major issues that cause people to get a divorce.

The way i see its, is that mien women when it come to sex, they all just lay there close their eyes and wait for the men do all the work. That's the reason to many divorce these day.

Maybe miens people are not satisfy you that why you like black chicks. everyones has their own choice who they love.

Everyone has their own reasons, situations, and circumstances.

Divorce should not be taken out of context..that is, the trend in the US is rising divorce rate.
A quick look back to the '60s and you'll why...the Babyboomers started the trends.
Basically, pre-industrial revolution: no time to cheat
post-indus. revo.: more leisure time, etc.

I say it is due to lack of respects, honesty, selflessness, and communication.

That's true, way too many mien people are divorcing these days. If the divorce has to do with abuse or violence, or drugs, then I'm okay with it but usually people get divorce because of temptation, adultery, cheats and lies. There is too many temptations out there like with the internet. It makes it too easy for people to cheat. You don't have to get dress or leave your house to meet someone. Even in here I'm sure there are people asking other people out who are married with kids, or in a relationship. Cheater will always be cheaters no matter how good looking the one he is with. So, don't go blaming the other person, saying that she got fat or let herself go, because that's not true.

Why? Because they weren't ready to get married but did it because they thought they were? They didn't want to be alone. Or because they have children together? They felt it was right at the time because it was their first love? What ever your reason may be, marriage is a big committment. It's based on trust, honesty, respect, and understanding. There are way too many divorces today not just in the mien community but others (Laos, Caucasians, Black, Vietnamese, Chines, etc.). Marriage is a chance you take when you're done searching and playing around. Especially when you think he/she is the one you want to be with for the rest of your life. Divorces happen because one will break the rules and takes marriage for granted. His/her eyes starts to wonder and wants to try different types of food, appetites, or desserts. Their grasses start to dry up and no longer green. I believe if you water it and take care of it like you're suppose to then it'll stay green. And if that doesn't work then plant some flowers around it. You may think the grass is greener on the other side but who knows what's behind closed doors. It probably has ants and killer bugs that will kill you. Maybe this is all part of life. I'm sure not every relationship is perfect but for better or for worst right? Plant some flowers around the grass, it'll lighten up your home.
And if that doesn't work then maybe consider moving back to Thailand?

Main stream culture, society play a major role in fail marriages. Especially our subculture really got sucks into the mainstream culture.
