Sipv Mienv - Practice of Traditional Mien Religion

i shoulda said can i pick ur smarts or mind
Science is my realm, even though it may sound geekie. I studied it in college and retain the knowledge for work in the Biotech realm. It would be like asking an Investment question to someone that was a Professional Investment Broker. The knowledge would almost be 2nd nature as some aspect of science is to me.

Sure, you can open my book and read it anytime. haha. Just playin - don't mean to sound perverse

well you live once you live well means you eat well right? man you have so much knowledge can i open you like a book and read it
Interesting you asked. Acids (acetic acid - lemon juice) only kills some types of pathogens, Salt kills another type of pathogens but the best way is to properly cook it. Heat kills most if not all that are found in pork.

what if it was cured by lemon juice? do you eat cured raw fish?
Ah. I too would like to know.
I did enjoy the pig blood as a kid but as I got older, I shyed away from it.
FYI - Raw pork (laup) can be very dangerous to consume. Many parasites are present in pork, even in healthy porks that would be awful for humans.

yeah those are the stuff i wanna learn about when they do certain things and how often and what stages...and yeah i do enjoy pork blood but i like it cooked...does anyone else like it?
Well... then I have absolutely no idea when they are supposed to do it. Maybe its like certain things they have to do around certain times, ya know. Like immunization shots. You get them somwere around 6 months old, then a year then 5 years...etc...
Perhaps sipv mienv is based on a similar schedule where you've gota perform certain rituals at around certain instances in a person's life and progression then at regularly scheduled increments. Special sipv mienv are performed for emergency situations such as sickness?
I suppose the more knowledgeable Mien people should shed the light on this.
DOES ANYONE ENJOY EATING THE PORK BLOOD THING THAT MIEN PEOPLE MAKE WHEN THEY SLAUGHTER THE PIG? Be honest now.
"Music is food for your soul you eat with your ears."
thanks for that information mr saans very informative and the book is awesome i too read it a while back..
i was thinking more in terms of when you do the sipv mienv for instance when you
sipv wuonh you do it for a (for whom)child (for what)who isn't well and the biangc (flower) orngv or biang ngou wants money...then they have to chow biangc...and they use the egg with white strings for the boys and the red for the girls put the egg in the middle have the cups and other stuff to do that stuff i was looking more for that stuff...more into deeper stuff i don't know much that is why i am trying to figure out what others know....
You see this is how I interpret it. Wether it be correct and accurate.. haha maybe.
Mien people originally practice a religion known as Taoism, originated from China. But while our ancestry lived with other customs, they also inherited their customs and believes. We are the worshiper of Spirits. If you're sick, its because the spirits are at odds with you. To quench the unsettled spirits, you sacrafice a chicken, pig, a Kao - oh I mean a Cow. haha. It usually depends on how big of a Beer drinking fest the Father would like to throw, followed by loud and lewd vocalization of nothingness about nothingness. People that are invited are friends of the family and your family, most of the time, family members you have no idea were your family.
As far as setting up. Well, first you need a Shaman. Second you need an animal, usually a chicken. The shaman first puts on this Samurai-ish outfit and stamps out this dollar size notes of brown blank sheets. He then begins to flow, like an Asian rapper entertaining the room with verbage you aint never heard before. The chicken usually sits on the table, dead of course and de-feathered. Once the shaman does his thing, depending on the shaman, they then retreat back to another room to smoke Opium. haha.
Food usually concludes the service follow by drunk people talking much about nothing but the conversations usually hover around hunting of some sorts.
ON THE REAL THOUGH - I suggest you read "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall." Its about a Hmong family with a daughter with epilepsy and how their beliefs conflict with western medicine. You'll be surprised to see how similiar thier beliefs match up with what mien elders practice. Interesting book.
