Dat aint even the case. we make music on how we live. we tryna expose the mien life. if we can make it then we belive that the mien name will not be unknown no more. just listen to our songs. give it a try. its good. I'm a music lover of all types. I don't listen to rap, but when I do the lyrics are quite meaningful, a story to be told. It's rare to find talented singer songwriters such as yourselves. Continue to do what you love to do and hopefully someday it will take you somewhere. If not, just do it because you enjoy it. If you write any other music other than rap let me know. I'm usually a guest singer at Mien parties. I sing what the bands can play which is very repetitive and boring. I need something new and original. Maybe you guys can help.
You know what. We rap cause thats all we know how to do. if i could play the guitar and sing i would do that. you know what i would rather sing then rap. Honestly. no lie. but i cant sing. so i rap. i need to express myself somehow. But yeah hopefully there will be more varieties of music from our mien culture. MONEY MOTIVATED RECORDS. We keep it MIEN
I support my Mien people all the way, but I for one would like to see, especially the new younger generation of Mien, more Mien people doing a more wider range of music other than Rap, R&B and Hip-Hop. Like what about Rock? Indie? Pop? Electroic? Techno? Classical? etc. I love R&B and Hip-Hop, but I also love other types of music. All I ever see is Rap and Hip-Hop being exposed to Mien people and is that all we're really capable of? Just because most of us are poor we have to tend to a ....... I don't know, a style of music that is more associated with poverty and not expand our horizons??? And please, don't even go there and call me a white-wash because I am proud to be Asian and Mien, read up on our Mien history, and expose myself to all types of cultures and lifestyles. I mean Mien people live hard lives and it's important that be recognized, but I think there's other types of ways it can be portrayed other than the usual Rap/Hip-Hop way. Just because you live in a place with a certain culture and idea, such as a poor place, you don't have to always conform to them; it will only limit you. And Mon3ymotivated keep on doing your stuff b/c it makes you happy and I hope all Mien artists will get recognized someday. PAYCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
