Mien Silver Bars

Mien Silver Bars

Other than wedding bridal price purposes does those Mien silver bars have any other purposes or what... There's like almost no place on the internet that talks about Mien silver bars, only talk about our jewelry and embroidery. I wonder how they make those silver bars in the villages anyways; or whether it was passed down from the Mien in China. Anyways, I think my parents got rid of it along with other things like Sip-Mien books, blowhorn, etc. when they converted to Christians; don't know for sure & bit afraid to ask them. If they did get rid of it I'll be damned pissed cause I would have taken good care of those tings.

We used them as part of the dowry for my brother's wife, but then I think we got her on layaway.

no need to be bitter about

no need to be bitter about what has happened, there is religious freedom what your father has choosen is what your father wants but it doesnt mean you have to believe in it too. if your uncles from ur dad's side is still doing the rituals then you are not all lost just tell your uncles you no longer wish to be christian they would be more then happy to accept you back. most every family has one of those books made so that they can carry on the family tree. i guess i am lucky that i was able to have a shamen teach me some intersting facts about our culture...in the books it also list the your birthdate by the chinese lunar calendar...

okay I guess I am a bit angered now and feel more lost...

heck I already feel lost that I don't have a religion anymore. But to find out that those books contained more than just folks songs and also history. WOW! My history is basically lost! Thanks a lot all your extremist Christian Mien. I will never be close to my family ever again b/c I am just more bitter now! THX EXTREMIST CHRISTIANS, THX YOU FOR FOR SPREADING OPRESSION AND CULTURAL EXTINCTION..... My history has probably been lost forever...

yeah give me those silver

yeah give me those silver bars heck i am even willing to buy it if you all sell it...that stuff is pure silver no other metals mixed into them...when your parents burned all the horn stuff and all that chinese lettering books that they have done is BURNED DOWN YOUR FAMILY TREE....the book contains fathers of fathers and who belong where to what generation you burn that and go into christianity then you are a total lost person no family tree to go by that is really wrong of the old folks to do that....only if the younger generation would have known what those books contain

Old Stuff

We still have all that old stuff in a suitcase somewhere. I wouldn't let my parents throw any of that stuff out anyways. I truely feel that when we throw away such things it's like destroying a little part of our identity.

Get rid of the Silver Bars?

Get rid of the pure Mienh's old silver bars?
Heck, please bring them to me, all of them!
