Negative thoughts

Frankly I'm just tired of people being so darn negative! If you don't have anything nice to say or think about, then don't think or say it out loud. Just keep it to yourself.

New elected President

Congratulation to newly elected President Obama. Let's wait to see and time will tell he will be effective president or another Bush. I don't think that he can do all the promises he made during his campaign because when he became the President, he will see all sides which means all kinds of issues and problems. Whatever he plans to do, the congress will block his agenda that is for sure. This is all about democracy so the government has to balance power.

I do not agree with those who use foul language to express here about the U.S. President. Even we live in the freedom of speech country, I just don't feel appropriate. This is just my opinion.

a new generation

never thought a black man my would become president in my lifetime. assumption, assumptions. my once skeptical feelings about our democracy have transitioned; they'll never be the same. :) i've always hated bush, however, obama would not be the next president had bush not been so f-ing awful and the republican right not soo f-in fear mongering. so, in hindsight, bush served a useful purpose. ahh, hindsight--20/20 indeed.

Have faith

Have faith in yourselves as American’s as Obama said in his speeches. Government cannot fix everything, we as Americans have to work together to make things better. No matter race, gender, age, Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives. Together we can make this country better for our children and great grand children. It is true that our government promise things and do not come through when elected. However, I do not want to live through another 4 years of Bush policy. But that is only my opinion, this is a free country and you can vote for whomever you like. Me personally I believe we need a change. I know most Asians will vote for McCain because of Obama’s skin color and that my fellow Iu-mien brothers and sisters is Racist. It will take both parties to fix the mess that we are in. I believe that we as Americans can and will get through this as history has shown time and time again how great this country and its people are.
Much Love to All,
--Scott

We got to have some faith.

We got to have some faith. We have been in this situation before. Only time will tell. Whoever gets elected, he will be our President and we have to respect that.

God bless us all

God bless us all. Regardless who is president,ur right nikki I don't think anythings going to be better or changed, but we shall see. Don't let one president make another one look bad. Good things can happen. We just have to wait and see. Don't forget to vote. =)

I really couldn't care who

I really couldn't care who will become the next president of the united state. One way or the other way the world will still be fuck up as always. They will only say what you wanna hear to get your vote, and some people are willing to listen and believe what they are saying hoping that the economy will get better, which it won't. all of these politican are full of shit, they tell us one thing and do the opposite.

You are Right about that

You are Right about that Precious, McCain does have a lot of miles and experience. However, when those miles run out, "Wink Wink" we will have someone that really do not have any miles or experience? I guess she has experience watching Russia for us? LMAO I mean no disrespect. =) Much love to ya and to all.

Good Info

America's economy is worst ever for me in nearly 25 years.
I've read somewhere, someone predicted that the USA will only get worse, slowly spiraling downward.

This election I think i'm just gonna sit still. I don't care no more! The economy has hurted me so bad financially. My life-time port folio was poorly managed and now I have nearly nothing. I blame it on the republicans and their so called 'heroic' policemen of the world. I'm fed-up, I even thought of moving out of USA and live elsewhere... haha.

About the GAS pipe-lines:
That's very interesting. Thanks for the info, brother.
I can't wait to hear more updates about them pipe-lines.

Glad I don't live around there.
I don't want no GAS under mah house, mang!

But then again if you live & own a house in the city, who knows what lies deep beneath...

Advice for Iu Mien in general

When it comes to solving our problems, there are two things keep in mind. Iu Mien can solve it by ourselves and Iu Mien need to seek help from authorities.

1. family conflict, spousal conflict, and basic community conflict between Iu Mien people, we can and we want to solve our problems according to our culture norms through Iu Mien District leader. This is an option for both parties who are in the interest of our culture norms without pursueing further which cost financial burden and time consuming. Iu Mien District leader can not force them to follow our culture norms if one party doesn't agree. They can still bring their case to small claim court to handle by the U.S. justice system.

2. when some one committed major crimes/capital punishment or felony crimes such as murder case, gangs, drug dealer, sex offender, and severe child abuse case. these crimes must be handled by Law enforcements, attorneys, and the rule of laws through the court and the U.S justice system. We can't take a matter in our Iu Mien own hands when Iu Mien individual committed major offender case as mention above.

Who is the next U.S. President?

Asian population is very small and the total percent of Asian American is about 4-8% in the U.S. I think that's why the candidate doesn't pay attention to Asian American as much as Black or Latino American. However, Asian American must participate in the election process in order for the candidate to pay more attention in the future of Asian American.

John MCcain or Barak Obama wins in November 4, must have effective domestic policy to help the U.S. economy moving forward. Create jobs and provide more funding to health program and social services to needy citizen whether than foreign policy.

Advice for Sacramento/in general

No power or seek power of attorneys.
For future, try to live or build houses farther from each other. We Mienh families like to
live close to each other. When there is problem, we have to solve it by ourselves.

Sacramento

You are a homeowner and you own the land your house sits on, including the soil and ground underneath. Would you let a commercial company inject up to 8 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas into the ground underneath your house? Sounds dangerous and unhealthy right??

That is what's happening right now in the area east of Power Inn between Elder Creek and Florin Road; under the homes of many, many Mien families.

In order to inject this gas, the company, Sacramento Natural Gas Storage, needs the permission of all homeowners in the 270 acre area where they are planning to store the gas. They are offering money and bonuses, and telling homeowners "If they don't sign up now, they won't get the money". That's a very nice pitch, especially to struggling families. The california public utitlies commission has ordered them to do an Environmental Impact Report .... But even without yet obtaining everyone's permission, and even without providing an EIReport, they are already planning to proceed construction of pipelines in 2009.

So, if this thing happens and damages occur, the SNGS should pay for it, not the homeowners, right??
Wrong. Gov. Schwarzenneger Vetoed the legislation that would have made SNGS pay for any damages. In his veto letter, he says he did not want to make the leg into California law because it would scare off other natural gas companies in CA from trying new construction .... but what about the residential homeowners??

That is Republican for you. No matter how experienced a person is, it comes down to principles and values about who/what they care about and who/what they are looking after. Republicans are looking after major corporations and businesses, not the little guys like us. That may be OK if we can advocate for ourselves, but fact is, the Mien community needs the gov't to help. Do most of us even know what advocating means?? Businesses can hire lobbyists, even the Latino's, Hmong and disabled have hundreds of organizations looking after them. We are still in a stage where we cannot survive without government assistance. Our very own Mien organizations can't even function because there is no funding.

So how is SNGS going to move forward without permission of homeowners? They will rip it right from underneath them through court. Which is what they would have probably done to begin with, but the process would cost a lot more than what they are currently offering to homeowners.

I hope people can start to see that voting republican means to vote against the Mien community ... More to come ...

Obama Vs McCain

I ask my boss yesterday, "Who are you voting for ----?. He said, "Well McCain, why? Because he's got alot of miles on him and more experienced. But I think Obama's going to win cause he's young, new, a smooth talker and he's good."

""Make every precious moment count"

Just vote

My Iu-mien Brothers and Sisters, I would share with you how a McCain can be a bush this morning, cause it's all over youtube. But I will not. All I can say is, if you think McCain can survive the stress as bush. haha Or if not vote for McCain and you will see the gov Palin from Alaska. Haha She's seen Russia from her state and she's keeping an eye on them? Sorry. LMAO we all know that most of our mien people are in the middle class. If you are not then good for you. As all of you know, I vote for OBAMA. Much love to all of my Iu-mien brothers and sisters. Please go out and Vote.

--Everyone, please Vote--

A bipartisan analysis ...

A bipartisan analysis of both candidates:

1.)The Economy
McCain: Tax cut for businesses. Freeze spending across the board, except for defense, veterans affairs and entitlement programs(medicare/social security, etc.). Cut Defense spending and execute fixed-cost contracts. Build Nuclear power plants. "Definite Yes" to off-shore drilling.
Obama: Tax cut for people who make $250,000 and under. Energy independance. Health Reform. Education for our children. Infrastructure updates and fixes. "Maybe" to off-shore drilling.

2.) Health Reform
McCain: $5000 Tax Credit and then tax the benefits
Obama: Lower costs for those with existing healthcare and federally assist with those without.

3.) Iraq War
McCain: Voted to send more troops after Bahgdad in order to come home with victory and honor.
Obama: Opposed Iraq war because we did not finish with Al Qaeda. We made a big mistake by taking focus off of Bin Laden and now they are stronger than ever.

3.) Diplomacy
McCain: We cannot talk to anyone that does not "align" with the U.S. .. without preconditions.
Obama: We can talk to anyone we need to, to keep America safe, with or without preconditions.

My analysis: Obama / Biden 2008 all the way.

Things for the Mien Community to think about is our existance: We are among the poorest communities in the United States of America. We are a new community; we are only 30 years old. We are still the early settlers that are struggling to survive and thrive. To add to that, we came from an ancient way of living. We make under $250,000 a year. We are still struggling. We are not corporate america (yet). We are not rich (yet). I am not speaking for individuals, I am speaking for our community as a whole.

If you vote Republican, you are voting to put the struggling communities last on our priority list.

It all comes down to principle values. Obama wants to work from the bottom up. He wants to make sure the poor are OK in order to grow the economy, before it can improve. Bottom up folks!! Right now, we are at the bottom.

Also something to think about. McCain's health is poor, very, very poor. He takes multiple medications, daily. He has not given a full health report that has been asked of him since the beginning of the campaign. Palin could be president if McCain passes, are you ready for that?

More to come.

Don't forget to vote

Folks,

Please remind your friends and family members to vote. As a Mien American it it our civic duty to vote.

McCain Criticized for Slur/He says he'll keep using term for ex-captors in Vietnam
C.W. Nevius, Marc Sandalow, John Wildermuth, Chronicle Political Writers

(02-18) 04:00 PDT Greenville, S.C. -- Editor's Note: This article was
published on Feb. 18, 2000. In 2008, at least three national web sites
posted links to it. As a result, it appeared in the list of SFGate's Most
Read articles.

Arizona Sen. John McCain refused to apologize yesterday for his use of a
racial slur to condemn the North Vietnamese prison guards who tortured and
held him captive during the war.
"I hate the gooks," McCain said yesterday in response to a question from
reporters aboard his campaign bus. "I will hate them as long as I live."
McCain, a former Navy pilot who spent five years in a Vietnamese prisoner
of war camp, was questioned about the language because of a story last
month in the Nation magazine reporting his continued use of the slur.
Since then, reports of McCain's language have been circulating on Internet
chat sites and e-mails among Asian Americans, many of whom find the the
term offensive and inappropriate for an elected official.
McCain's appeal to voters has been as a wartime hero and a feisty
politician who speaks his mind and damns the consequences. But his
comments on the eve of the key South Carolina primary show the candidate's
vaunted "straight talk" in another light.
"The use of a racist slur can't be acceptable for any national leader,
regardless of his background," said Diane Chin, executive director of the
San Francisco-based Chinese for Affirmative Action. "For someone running
for president not to recognize the power of words is a problem."
While McCain's words may have little effect in conservative South
Carolina, where few Asian Americans live, they could come back to haunt
him in other states.
"Historically, straight talkers who say things off the top of their heads
eventually hang themselves with those sorts of remarks," said Bruce Cain,
a political scientist at the University of California at Berkeley.
"While it might not hurt him now, Democrats are not going to have any
hesitation about using this stuff to string him up later."
TERM FOR HIS CAPTORS
McCain made no apologies yesterday.
"I was referring to my prison guards," McCain said, "and I will continue
to refer to them in language that might offend some people because of the
beating and torture of my friends."
McCain made it clear that his anger extends only toward his captors. As a
senator, he was one of the leaders of the postwar effort to normalize U.S.
relations with Vietnam.
Campaign officials do not expect the controversy to hurt McCain, either in
tomorrow's South Carolina primary or later in the campaign.
"If people understood the context, they wouldn't be upset," Mike Murphy, a
senior adviser to the campaign, said last night.
But the racial slur used by the senator has a long, painful history that
is felt by many Asian Americans.
The word "gook" was first used in 1899 by American soldiers fighting
Filipino insurgents. During the Korean War, the term was aimed at Koreans
and Chinese. It was directed at the Vietnamese when Americans were
fighting in Vietnam. It is now used as a slur toward any Asian or Pacific
Islander.
The Arizona senator prides himself on running an open campaign. He is
surrounded by reporters, television cameras and tape recorders perhaps
more than any presidential candidate in history. Reporters are given full
access to the candidate between each campaign stop on a customized bus
purposefully dubbed the "Straight Talk Express."
The bus, which also carries his top staff and often his wife, Cindy, is
crammed with network anchors and local newspaper reporters, who endlessly
engage McCain in what amounts to a news conference on wheels.
The comments are usually recorded and always on the record.
Sometimes the questions are pointed and serious. Sometimes they are not.
McCain has declared on his bus, "I hate the French." He often begins
meetings with Californians joking, "I hate Californians," noting that they
steal Arizona's water and lure his constituents away in the summer.
MCCAIN'S IMPRISONMENT
But those comments are clearly in jest. Yesterday's were not.
McCain was captured after his A-4 Skyhawk was shot down over Hanoi on Oct.
26, 1967. During the time he was held, he was brutally tortured by his
captors, finally reaching the point where he was unable to resist signing
a "confession."
McCain and his fellow prisoners suffered terribly in the prison camp. In
the crowd at yesterday's rally in Greenville was retired Adm. Robert
Fuller, who was in prison with McCain at the infamous "Hanoi Hilton."
Fuller, who lives in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., spoke informally of the
despair of living in single cells, where the only form of contact was by
an ingenious code devised by the prisoners. Fuller said prisoners were
sometimes tortured for as many as six days. When they returned, he said,
the others would send messages of support by tapping on the wall.
"They would be put in ropes for six days, and they would confess," Fuller
said. "When they came back to their cell, guys would tap on the wall, `We
love you. I wish we could give you a hug.' "
The horrors of the past cannot be an excuse for hurting people in the
present, said Guy Aoki, president of the Media Action Network for Asian
Americans, an anti-defamation group.
"If Sen. McCain had been captured by Nigerians, could he call those people
`niggers' and think he wasn't going to offend everyone who is black?" Akoi
asked. "We can all feel for what he went through, but if that's his level
of sensitivity, I'm very disappointed."
McCain usually treats his experience as a prisoner of war as a terrible
time in his life, but a period he has moved beyond. At times, he even uses
it as a punch line for jokes.
At a pancake breakfast recently, he said he had gone with his daughter to
the MTV Music Awards, "and that was the greatest assault on my senses
since I was in prison."
Yesterday's comments made it clear that McCain had neither forgotten, nor
forgiven, his captors.
"I will call right now, my interrogator that tortured me, a gook," McCain
said. "(I can't believe that) anybody doesn't believe these interrogators
and prison guards were cruel and sadistic people who deserve the worst
appellations possible."
McCain said he does not consider the comment an epithet.
"Gook," he said, "is the kindest appellation I can give."

McCAIN IN THE POLLS Here are some results from new national polls that
show Republican Sen. John McCain faring better than or as well as GOP

whomever goes into office

whomever goes into office i'm gonna give them my full support...i am an asian american and if i dont support my government i don't have a right to be an american citizen so go cabama

Who will be next U.S. President & Policy

Yes, we are little off the topic but I think is still related because we talk about U.S. President, history of U.S. and the leadership role of U.S. as well as domestic policy and foreign policy. I think it's o.k to discuss issues and concerns. This is the process of finding solution what is best and what is worst that the government has been done in the past and what need to be done in the future.

In terms of who we are going to vote in November 4, I will reserved don't ask don't tell policy. Vote for who you think that over all policy is best to run the country. Even after November 4, your candidate didn't win, don't feel bad. In 2012, will be another chance to vote. I still think U.S. has the best policy in government system than any other countries in the world. The President of the United States has to be elected by the people every 4 years. No matter how good the U.s. President is, he/she can only served in two terms. That's the law.

This topic is about who will be the next president?

This topic is about who will be the next president? Why are we as Iu-mien brothers arguing about something else? We should be thinking who our next president is going to be. I have love for my Iu-mien people and I feel most of us are just working and living life. Trying to survive, but it is your choice to vote for whoever you want. I vote for Obama because he will not tax us and he will get out of Iraq. I truly believe him because this is our only chance to get out of this mess. Much love to all. =)

You raised good point

I just don't like you said that I was brain washed. I have to stand for what I think is fair. According to your message above, you feel very hurt about discrimination in the U.S. history. Yes, I took sociology class and the U.S. had genocide Native people especially Cherokee tribe. slavery remained in the U.S. until civil rights movement in 1960s led by Dr. Martin Luther King. Now a day, discrimination is still existed in work place of every sector of business. We as American have to speak up but being a minority is hard because we don't have minority at every level of job place to investigate those who committed discrimination act.

You mention the communist of China. I'm not sure how much research you do to get a proof that Chinese government revolves around the poor by taking from the rich and giving it to the poor. You may only see bright side of Chinese government but the dark side no body know. They don't have a free speech as the U.S.

Base on where I grew up and what I have witness, communists rule is not like what you are talking about. In 1975, the Lao government reformed and Communist took over, all western embassies were closed down and all westerners have to moved out fo country within certain days. After new government took over the country, between 1975 to 1979, there was no shop for people to buy basic need. No merchandise because the communist government did not allowed private sector to do any thing. If people need a material to make simple clothes, they can only allowed to buy from state run shop. When state announced that people will allow buy merchandise, they have to fight to get on line and wait all day long, then state staff announced that no more goods for customer. You have to wait until the next available goods ship in. This takes months to buy a basic needs. Even you have money, there is nothing to buy.

I know now, the communist Laos is no longer be as the old Communist government, but there are still a lot problem within the country.

You are good in politics, I would like to see you running for public office in the near future. Keep sharing your ideas so that we can learn from each other.

You made alot of good valid

You made alot of good valid points. You said it yourself, we dont even have proof. We will never know the cause of the war in the middle east because U.S. government refuse to let the America know. We have to research it ourselves. Most of what you said is true, but what you must understand is not every country is perfect. Not every country is ready for modernization. If they are not ready, then let them be. If the problem continues, you have to talk with the UN and every country has to agree. About the war, alot of countries disagree with the war but America refuse to listen, they went to war. First, it was to find weapons of mass destruction . Next, it was war against terroism. Now, its war to change the regime of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc..? Why are we so much focus on other countries with only 1-2 allies when we, ourselves, already have so much issues at home.
Yeah, other countries might have done alot of bad things. You dont think U.S. has done anything bad? Lock up Japanese during world war II, almost extinct the Native Americans, killed innocent Japanese people, black and asian slavery. Are you telling me we have that right to tell other countries what to do considering what we had done in the past?

What i know for sure is that we didnt lock up any Germans here in the United States when we fought Germany. Hmm, they did it for the Japanese. Why? Its because its hard to distinguish them from the whites.

I totally disagree with you on nuclear weapons. You know many of that funding sources came from tax payers. I understand if we have 100 nuclear weapons, but thousands? A couple of them is enough to wipe any country of this earth. You just dont understand. You probably say "if we nuke Japan, then they probably deserve it." Yeah, you might be right. Also, we dont have that right. These things has to be discussed with the UN and every country has to agree. At least, evacuate innocent lives no matter what it takes. If Japan nukes us, you probably say "its axes of evil. They killed innocent lives. They are heartless blah blah." I cant understand people like you. These are the people you dont want in the government. Guess what, majority of them are, including the president.

Tell me, why do we have to live in fear when other countries live in prosperity despite whats going on around them knowing that history might be repeated? Majority of our tax payers money go to security and all that. Let me tell you this, why do we need security if we are so sure we are doing such a good deed? Why, because we are not. Some security i understand, but to have all focus on it is too much.

You think Japan didnt warn United States. Japan warned them, too, but we didnt listen. Everyone should know that much.

You know what, i would rather live in other countries then here. You have been too much brain-washed. You honestly think other countries' human rights are bad? some of them are, but to say China? Now, i know you dont even have a clue. A country that revolves around the poor by taking from the rich and giving it to the poor that is what Communism is about. I dont think you have any clue what human rights are.

U.S.vs war

I don't think U.S. government wants a war and I don't think Iraq war and Afghanistant war cause by U.S. government. Iraqis government led by Sadham had severely violated human right law since he came to power in Iraq. He used chemical war germ killed his own people during Iran and Iraq war in 1980s. In 1990, he invaded kuwait and executed many Kuwait's government officials in front of world television but no one can do any thing. After those evil act, the UN and United States try to intervened the problem. Finally, Kuwait country was deliberated but Sadam will remain in power and continue to hate America.

Most importantly, after Gulf war, America try not to be a world police. U.S. government tries to pull troops back to U.S. soil. When U.S. goes home, their policy and currency will disppear from foreign country and this also cuase financial collapsed all over the global. This led to terrorist attacked in 2001. America tries to avoid war and the war will follow America to the home land to attacked America's vien because the terrorism known exactly the crucial place to attack such as world trade center which is the main trading of U.S financial institution building. The second plan attacked is the Pantagon which is world supper power's military head quater. The third plan was aiming at White House and attempted to assassinate U.S. President. If those hijackers were succesfully destroyed United States, I don't think we are as free and have thing that we have here in the U.S. to day. Again, those 19 hijackers were from Middle East countries. No matter the UN inspector said no evident linked to Irag or Afghanistant, the master mind planner is still in the Middle East region. See, there is no way you can blame America is aggressor or cause war.

I would recommend if you don't like U.S. policy, you can go to live in the third world country or Communist world country to experience the condition of those countries who don't implemented any U.S. policy into the government so you can feel the different of government policy can impact on people's live.

Let me get to Mienhmario mention about world war II with Japan. Who bomb who first? Japan bomb Pearl Harbor first, right. After Japan bombing Pear Harbor, U.S. declared war with Japan. How long U.S. have to fight with Japan? and how many troops were die during the war time? How many times America warned Japan to surrender? Japan never feel that they will lose the war. Yes, if Japanese troops keep killing American troops. I think Atomic bomb is the last result and it is validated to use.

Even today if any countries invade the U.S. soil, I think U.S. has a right to use nuclear to srike back. I think the reasons, we posess nuclear is the last resources to use when foreign invaders are stepping on our soild and kill our people. Of course, when dropping atomic bomb there is no way you can avoid innoncent live.

I agree with you my bro

I agree with you my bro mienhmario, what I feel and this is only my feelings. I feel that we as Americans should not go to war with just any country for no reason. I feel that the war against Afghanistan was a set up for IRAQ, Oh well no one believes it. We all have to remember, America is supposed to be the BEACON OF HOPE. Yet we became the aggressors. For oil? It’s your choice. For me Scottie is for OBAMA. No disrespect to anyone one. Much love to all.

To who am I?

My Iu-mien brother, most people feel that Obama cannot win because he is black. However, he's half white and I don't know how people hate? Black, White, Latino, Asian it should not matter. Everyone should just respect each other. This election is so personal for a lot of people not just our race. To all Iu-mien brothers and sisters, those of you who can vote. Please register to vote. Much love to you my bratha who am I and much love to all Iu-mien.

I understand that. I think

I understand that. I think alot of what you say is totally wrong. The blame should be put on the president if they are Republican. The blame should be put on them because they stand for the rich. If you choose the liberal party, they will help the poor. If you choose a conservative party, they will only help the corporate and the rich. Its that simple. Its not something you can debate about when its all facts. Did you notice how the media these past couple of weeks try not to point fingers at the president by saying "we cant trust anybody in our government" when the president and his policies was the caused of all this. The corporate stand by him.

Let me tell you this, i never liked any president because of their poor international policies. Its always about war. The U.S. always bring up war when they dont get their way. U.S. might be the most powerful at the moment, but things will start to change very soon. If you look back at all the wars we were in, it was U.S. who started them all. It is common sense that the country that only revolves around money and greed, will soon fall and it will fall hard.

The war with Japan, U.S. stir up that problem. They interfere with Japan knowing the consequences, which lead to the bomb at Pearl Harbor. United States, in return, bomb citizens, childrens, sisters, friends and families in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japan only bombed military base. I shouldnt tell you all this even though its all common sense.

Do you know alot of countries hate America. They hate America because they are the aggressors and the bullies. When it comes to helping other countries, America will always want something in return. When it comes to aiding other countries, its either a strategy to gain more control of the world. When they aid other countries, its only $10-20 billion. It might sound alot but that is just 1000-2000 truck loads of food. Do you think that can feed millions of people? A country that revolves around money, that is petty chunk of change.

politics?

Politics? I think whatever you want to share, you have to have four ways of viewinng, as old saying. I don't think republican only represent rich and democrat represent the poor. If you do research, many U.S. senators are democrats, but they are hell rich. During this difficult time a lot of blame game on President Bush or republican and I do not agree this war, economy crisis is only blame on republican or President. Now, both house of congress are held by democrate majority. Every spending bill that President wants, has to go through the voting process and must be approved by majority of vote by Congress. During campaign season, every candidate claims he/she is going to change Washington. Who are they talking about? Barak Obama and John MCcain are from Washington D.C. and also they are from the house of Congress. Keep in mind, no matter who is elected, he has to run the country under the U.S. constitution laws of land. The structure established since founding father of the nation. in other words, the job description of the President of the United States are on the constitution to guide the president to enforce the rules of laws. Do every U.S. President has the same policy? No, certain President may have better policy than the other but the main frame of law already existed there for the U.S. President to follow.

Look at the history of the 46 U.S. President. When the world circumstances changed, the U.S. President has to face the consequences. For example, world war 2. Franklin Rosevelt had to sent million of soldiers to die in foreign soil. who cause the World War II? The dictatorship, Hitler caused the world war II.

During President Clinton era, there were many prosperity in America. Economy were booming, jobs were creating. During that period of time, his policy matter? Yes, of course. After Gulf War, the world also stable and I think that also part of his fortunation too. No major world problem occured during President Bill Clinton presidency. See, the luck of each president and effective policy made America moved forward.

The bottom line there is no one perfect and no party is perfect as well. The news media also play very important role during campaign season. The news medias will drags out every candidate's weak points and strong points so let the people of the nation to decide who is the best to run the riches nation on earth. I think the best president should have 3 main effective polices. Balancing budget, precise domestic policy, and effective foreign policy.

Foreign affair or foreign policy: No one wants war but when our country are powerful, rich, the other country will look upon U.S. for any thing. For example, when their country has problem, they need America to help them to sovle their problem but they don't want American policy as far as I can see and tell you all. when they don't committed to follow American policy then what happen? Those countries will never catch up with America. The resouces American can provide for temporary basis but will not last very long. Another example, after world II, German divided into two countries, East Germany and the West Germany. West political system is similar to U.S. so they recovered very soon right after the world war II. The East Germany unable to provide adequate food to feed their people.

Keorean war also divided North Korean, and South Korean. Today, South Korean is also stable their political system also similar to western nations. their domestic production all over the world. Why North Korean so poor and their people are starving right now? Because they do not want to follow U. S. policy so they want to follow communists policy. That's why they can't afford food to feed their people.

My bros scott,

let's face the fact. Most or some of the white will say they voted for Obama right now but, for racial reasons, actually didn't when come to November 4. I have no doubts Obama will win if he's white. But black??? Me too, mean no disrespect...just my opinion.

You know whats funny, they

You know whats funny, they talk about war as if they are moving chess pieces. That is not how its supposed to be. They should make the policies like this: If congress declares war, then each congress members and the president has to put one of their youngest son/daughter at the front lines. I prefer the daughter because it makes them think harder about war. That is how it should be. Do you remember about Michael Moore doing an interview on congress members? He interviewed alot of congress members about asking if they would put their sons and daughters into war? They said "no." After watching that, the movie implies that only the dumb ones go to the army, navy, etc.
