and on the other hand, you are trying to argue with me.

The Male "Y" chromosome does not contain any genes that are critical to normal physiological health. You would be normal, for the most part, even if you were missing the "Y" chromosome. It is referred to Turner's Syndrome {45,X} - short stature, web fingers and infertile but you would still live out a normal life.

The reason male fetuses tend to be miscarried more often is because all that needs to happen is have something wrong with their only "X" chromosome for miscarriage to occur. Females have 2 "X" chromosomoes, so if one were to be non functional or compromised somehow, the cellular system inactivates one of the "X" chromosomes. Some text say that the inactivation of the "X" chromosome may be random but other text say that it is an active cellular choice.

ALL IN SHORT. Males need only for something to be wrong with the only X chromosome for something to go bad, as to where the female fetuses would require both X to be compromised.

Chromosome "X abnormalities are not the most common reasons people miscarry. There are a whole lot of other disorders that cause miscarriages more often than sexual chromosome abnormalities. 47,XX,+21 / 47,XY,+21 {downs syndrome} have a miscarriage rate of over 85%.

Also, miscarriage rate of male fetuses is greater than of female fetuses.

Honest belief:

I think that females are genetically predisposed to live longer because their bodies are set in a more sophisticated way. They have more failsafe mechanisms - the evolution of having to fertilize, grow and care for infants. Their bodies are more adept to storing nutrition, more adept to DNA repair.

Breakn it down: Mothers have to nourish and care for their babies until they are old enough to care for themselves and the species depends on it. Humans were not always a monogomist species sot it was up to the mothers.

There aren't many around, only few that's really rich and those rich ppl don't want lazy @$$ women. Now a day everyone have to work to support each others. If women doesn't want to work just sit on the couch or shopping at the mall for another men and their husband work their butt off, that's why it lead to more divorce in any community not just mienh communities. It's true now there are more single moms than single dads cause they still searching for rich men....

Show me where I can find a man that works so his woman doesn't have to. Most women now a day are independent. We have to both work and take care of the household because men failed to do the job. There are more single moms than there are single dads.

The extra X-chromosome helps too (men become sick more often than women do).

Here's a curve ball: there are more widow than widower, that is, women outlived their husband and tend not to remarry simply because there're no more men around...so women's longer life expectancy is not *really* a blessing. Food for thought.

Great inputs guys/gals, all that mentioned do have good potential of longevity in general.

However, I think the key point ' to why 'women out-live men' is that women keep rejuvenating themselves once a month, called
menstrual period. Almost all women have experience a monthly discharge of old blood from the womb/body; this process allows new fresh blood to take over the body. This new blood goes through its cycles in the body and helps rejuvenate all your functioning organs in the body. As a result, women tend to live longer.......

Unlike women, men don't have such rejuvenating process, therefore, we have to cope with the same old blood all our lives. Besides, men eat almost anything, pig blood, squirrels, deer meat, which only add more problems to the already old blood.

PS. It's like comparing 2 cars - one that gets its oil change frequently, and one that never gets an oil changed; which car will last longer? ~ plain and simple as that ~

Us women intend to take good care of ourself. We watch what we eat, exercise, drink in moderation, no smoking, reduce stress, and avoid risky behavior. So men, you do exactly what we do, you will eventually live as long as we do.
